1. People first
Add employees or import them from the CSV template, and set each person's department, branch and reporting manager.
2. Salary profiles
For each employee enter the pay structure and statutory details: UAN for PF (12 digits), ESI number (10 digits) where it applies, and the professional tax state. Interns can be paid a stipend.
3. Calendar
Set the weekly off and add public holidays. Nobody loses pay for a weekly off or a holiday.
4. The monthly run
- Check attendance, approved leave and attendance corrections for the month.
- Open Payroll and run the month.
- Review each employee: working days, present days, LOP days, gross, PF, ESI, professional tax, TDS and net pay.
- Mark the month paid. Payslips are available to employees in self-service.
- Export the run as a file if your accountant or bank needs it.
5. Fixing a mistake
A paid month is protected from being run again by accident. Un-pay it, correct the cause, and run it again.
What BizzSetu does not do
- It does not file PF, ESI, professional tax or TDS returns.
- The TDS figure is an estimate on the new-regime slabs, not a final tax computation.
Questions
- Does payroll post to the accounts?
- Yes. With Accounting on, payroll posts to the ledger.
- Can employees see their own payslips?
- Yes. Each employee can open their own salary and payslips.
- Do I need the HR Suite for payroll?
- Yes. Payroll needs the HR Suite, because it reads attendance and leave.
